8 national autistic society testimonial NATIONAL AUTISTIC SOCIETY creating immersive spaces for autism support CREATING IMMERSIVE SPACES FOR AUTISM SUPPORT AT THE NATIONAL AUTISTIC SOCIETY THE CHALLENGE When developing its new Randalstown Centre, the National Autistic Society needed specialist sensory environments that would support both autistic adults and children with a wide range of needs. The aim was to create immersive, adaptable spaces that could promote calm, encourage learning, and help individuals build confidence in everyday experiences. THE SOLUTION SpaceKraft designed and delivered a bespoke sensory solution which included an immersive projection suite, interactive sensory room, flexible breakout areas, and outdoor sensory gardens. Each environment created to be multi-functional, giving sta the flexibility to support relaxation, engagement, and skill development in ways tailored to individual needs. THE OUTCOME The completed centre now provides innovative sensory environments that support wellbeing, engagement, and development for autistic individuals of all ages. With immersive spaces unlike anything previously available locally, the project has created a valuable long-term resource backed by the reassurance of ongoing support from SpaceKraft.
